Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the new look “HypoActive UPDATE” to go with our fantastic new website. If you haven’t visited the website for a while please do it looks great and has more info on our next 3 major events, with more info to be uploaded soon. So please keep the events coming in the new year in mind over the festive season, it would be great to see you at any of the events.
TOP 5 IDEAS to incorporate exercise into Christmas Festivities
Reason: Christmas is all about feasting, and then feasting again. Start a new tradition, and incorporate some exercise with your family and friends
1.Buy someone an active gift - a ball, tennis racket, etc then afternoon down time between feasts is solved and it can be something to engage the whole crew.
2.Walk the block, go for a run, or a short ride before Santa arrives (“for me, we had to entertain ourselves before Dad finished milking the cows” says Monique). There is NO traffic early on Christmas morning!
3.Boxing Day - walk to the MCG, walk to the races, walk to the family bash. Or run, or bike, or skip.
4.Arrange to meet family and/or friends in a park for a catch up before the big day or even Christmas Day, so there is plenty of room for lots of games and fun.
5. Three Legged Races are always a great laugh, so save those old stockings, have a few different categories young vs old, boys vs girls, Grandparents can be flaggies at start and finish and why not have some funny prizes from the cheap shop (ie princess tiara, water pistols etc.).
ENJOY & JUST HAVE FUN!!!

Woody’s Murray to Moyne
Event Date: 4 April 2009 – 5 April 2009
A fund raising event for teams of cyclists to cycle in relay from the Murray River to the Moyne River over 520 kms. 2009 will be the 7th year that a HypoActive team has signed up to take on this amazing challenge and we are looking for some fresh faces to join both the cycling and the support/driving crew. This is an amazing event and where HypoActive started. If you would like to join the team, or want to find out more information, please contact the Team Captain Monique
Run 4 Kids
Event Date: 5 April 2009
The Run for the Kids is a fun run that raises money for the Royal Childrens Hospital (a location many of us know all too well!!) as part of the Good Friday Appeal.
You can choose to complete either the full 14.1Kms or a more relaxed 5.7Kms. The 14.1km course passes through the Domain Tunnel, along the usually Westgate Freeway, then up over the Bolte Bridge and along the waterfront at Docklands. The 5.7km course takes in some of Melbourne’s famous landmarks such as the Yarra River, Birrarung Marr, Federation Square, and the Botanic Gardens. It is the same weekend as Murray to Moyne so if your not part of Murray to Moyne it would be great to have you at this event. Please reply to this email if you would like more information.
