2010 saw the fourth HypoActive MS MegaSwim team take to the water. Dubbed the 'Stingrays' the team stuck it out despite being down 3 swimmers due to injury!
Approaching lightning saw the pool evacuated for 20 minutes in the early hours of Saturday morning - many swimmers being glad of the reprieve. Once the danger had passed the swim recommenced and our intrepid team continued to smash out the laps.
This year was the first year that HypoActive has managed to field a team completely comprised of Type 1 diabetics (not a beta cell in sight, but plenty of pumps, sites, meters and test strips...). The team put in a sensational effort to cover 47Kms and raised over $4,000 to date for the MS Society's Go For Gold Scholarship program!
