WOW! What a weekend. Do I start at the finish or at the beginning? I’ve just come from watching stage 5 of the Tour Down Under, and seeing Robbie McEwan win the final sprint to the line – Exhilaration & adrenaline to the max! I LOVE watching racing of any kind, I’m an armchair competitor and delight in trying to outguess the participants strategies, before they even know they’re doing it. But who am I kidding?
5 Days to go, this is the last `Update' you'll get from me.
Here I am slogging away on the hills, getting in some last minute training for the Ride for a Cure. I've been putting in about 250k's per week on the bike and have worn out my favourite riding niks, gone through a bottle of sunscreen and a bottle of fake tan. :-( Yes it's true - every bit of colour you see on my skin, comes out of a bottle!
The Ride to Cure Diabetes 2006 started well enough, although we arrived in Adelaide to find that the air-conditioning in Adelaide airport wasn't working. It was to be an omen for the entire weekend, although we were only slowly becoming aware of this at the time!
